Second Event of Helping Hand Volunteer @ DYANADA SHIKSHAN PUNE

Hello Friends,

At the outset, I must take this opportunity to thank all those who helped us during our previous visit to DYANADA SHIKSHAN MANDAL which enabled us to attain what we had promised ourselves. Nothing would have been possible without the contribution of a lot of you. I am thus highly grateful to having friends like you, who have trusted me and allowed me to spread a smile on a few faces. They say ‘What goes around, comes around’ and I did have a smile on my face when I looked at those angels smiling.

With the recent floods, I also realised how important it is to help those people in need and those whom we probably do not know. I guess, a small thank you does make a good difference. You may be wondering why I am sending you this message, but here is the reason.

Water supply - While all of you know that I did visit an orphanage on 15 Aug 17, I was personally devastated to observe that the children do not get basic facilities, even like clean drinking water. We learnt that the water they have from drinking is from a river which is not even filtered.

Water storage tank – The tank used to store water itself was in a bad shape, such that it was not cleaned for many years.
The library – It was really sad to see that there were a few books kept on a desk of a room, that was called a library. Something like our study table having around 10 – 12 books.
The classrooms – None of them had good benches, which means children had poor sitting arrangements.
The kitchen - The food was traditionally cooked using wood from the forest (which was still acceptable)
These are the few things we did see and it was saddening to see that the children weren’t getting the basic facilities too.
We have thus decided on moving further once again with another activity of donating a few more things to the school. Below is the list.
1. Plastic sleeping mats – as they need to sleep on the floor.
2. Tooth brush, tooth paste, body soap and washing soap - so they can wash themselves and their clothes and stay in the best of their health
3. Notebooks
4. 15 Buckets and mugs
5. Slippers/suitable footwear
We estimate the total cost to be around Rs. 75,000/- and are starting with the round of donations as well. You may if you wish to, purchase these items and hand them over to us. To keep it standard, we will keep you informed of the brand.
Alternatively, as before. You may also contribute through an online transfer or PAYTM. The details are here mentioned below.
            A) Paytm – 9768857649
            B) Bank Option –

If you have any other suggestions, your thoughts are welcome.

Let’s allow the younger ones to have basic facilities, let’s get a smile on their faces, for they are a symbol of god. Let’s allow them to get educated in the best possible way. “Let’s spread smiles”.

                                   Your’s truly
